Social Resurrection

A commitment to collective social well being

The word social refers to living together. It further relates to the live, survive, and thrive together for collective well-being. The word resurrection comes from the Latin word resurgere, meaning “rise again.” While it can refer to a rising from the dead, it also describes bringing something back to life — meaning, to revived after a time of inactivity or decline or neglect. After more than three years of research in social resilience, I realized that the “social” is somewhere lost in system-centered and individual-centered framing of our everyday lives. Hence, I came up with Social Resurrection as a way to collective well-being (being good at present) and well-becoming (being better tomorrow). It is a journey of collective growth and transformation, where every individual is valued, and community bonds are strengthened.
